BC111 Waves & chidori bird motif tsuba. Toryusai Ha Tsuba. If you have handled many tsuba you will think Tanaka school when you see this tsuba. Kiyotoshi of the Tanaka school became so famous his followers became known as the Toryusai school. Toryusai was the art name used by Kiyotoshi.

This Wonderful tsuba shows a great design of sparrows flying over lapping waves. The Tanaka school achieved depth and intensity by going from lighter to richer gold and by going from sparsely inlayed to thicker overlay to produce dramatic effects. All of there tsuba are made with well forged plates and have really great surface work on the faces and rim. This tsuba was submitted for  Hozon judging and received certification to Toryusai Ha.

Comes with a NBTHK Hozon certificate.
