Choshu smiths did very nice detail work as shown by the bug eaten hole in the leaf on the right. This smith was working late 17th century and there is thought to be two or three generations. In the book Choshu no Tsuba by Murakami kosuke. There is a daisho on pg 38 made by this smith. It says he worked in Kyoho jidai ( 1716 -1735). The second is thought to have worked in 1750.
