BC82  Hoan Kanenobu Iron Tsuba. This great small guard is signed by the second Hoan master with his classic signature with his kao below Hoan and Kanenobu on the left of the nakago ana. Great for putting on a sunnobi tanto. The second master was born in Keicho 5 and is considered an Owari smith. Early Hoan  (1st gen) are normally etched and have great abtract  designs where the 2nd made many flat and tapered tsuba with fine amida yasurime as this tsuba has. Many tsubas of this second master will have an inlay of gold, silver , shakudo and copper of small sea shells. All of the first and  2nd  are thought to be rare. According to Kinko Jiten the second died Dec 29 Empo 7 (1679).
