#CJL1 , 63.7cm  signed Daito in shirasaya with a nice old two piece gold foil habaki.  

The hada is in itame and hamon is in a wide active temper done like Yoshimichi of the early Kanbun era. I just received this nice very clean and healthy daito from a local Japanese collector. While it has no certification it has a copy of the original torokusho issued for it in 1950. The owner thinks it is a first generation signature. The work looks like that of the first just before the sudare ba hamon appeared. The rust is proper and the nakago shaping and cut of kanji suggest it was done by a seasoned smith. I wonder if this could be a jidai gimei. Anyways a very nice piece at a reasonable price.........
